Eastwood was once a coal mining town in the district of Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire. It has a population of 18,000 and it situated north-west of Nottingham. A famous author – D.H Lawrence was born in Eastwood in 1885, his birthplace and residences now attract visitors from all over the world. His book ‘The White Peacock’ features alot of references to the coal pits and the local areas. Lawrence would be surprised to know now that Eastwood is now six times bigger than it was in his day. Nottingham lettings cover the whole area of Eastwood and would be happy to arrange a consultation to discuss what we can offer you regarding the letting of your property.

The town is centered on Nottingham Road which runs along a north west-south east ridge. To the east of Eastwood is Giltbrook Retail Park which is home to a large Ikea store, Decathlon, Next and many other stores.

Eastwood has many monuments and landmarks around the town including Greasley Castle, Eastwood Hall, The Buildings which is a housing estate consisting of over 300 coal miners terraced cottages built in the 1860s. They were saved by demolition by a council scheme and it was also used to illustrate the Europeans Communitys Urban Renaissance competetion in 1980. There is also a war memorial on Plumptre way and Colliers Wood which is a 14 hectare country park with over 17,500 trees and hedgerows and two ponds. In Eastwood there is a Blue Line Trail, which is literally painted on the pavement to guide tourists around the areas connected with the author D.H Lawrence.

Kimberly is close to the M1 and has a mix of bungalows, 60s/70s semis and town houses and along the main Eastwood Road there are many terrace houses which is perfect for first time buyers. Nuthall has 3 major roads, Nottingham Road, Watnall Road and Kimberly Road, these all have large semi-detached houses along them. In Langley Mill there have been some recent new developments to the east of Lower and Upper Dunstead Roads. Watnall is a small village located to the north of Kimberly. There are two parts to it, Watnall Chaworth to the north and the larger Watnall Cantelupe to the south. Both are popular with older people aswell as families as it has a village feel even though its next to some big towns.
